Life and Dreams

“Life is long. Life is long as fuck.” I watched this video the other day and I found it so relevant to what a lot of us, in college, are going through right now. He talks about people in college who do not want to be there, but are only there to live out their parents dream for them, to be the first in the family to get a college degree.

He says how important it is for a person to pursue their OWN dreams because it will be a long and miserable life, living with the regret of never pursing our dreams and living the rest of our lives thinking what could have been if we took that chance that would have changed our lives forever. He ends the video with a question to think about:

“Are you living your life right now? Or do you just exist?”

Time Is All I Fear

Since graduating from high school, it seems like a lot my old friends are now just people that I used to see. I understand we are getting older, busier, and some of us are moving away. I just hope that we don't take it personal, I hope that  someday we can meet again when we're older and make up before it's to late, before we run out of Time.

This song “Time” by Rockie Fresh is about losing good friends because he put all his Time in to chasing his dream. He admits it has changed him because many gain fame but lose themselves. This song is an apology to the friends who did not forgive him because of his lack of loyalty.

My feelings are very similar to his, Everything I have done, I couldn't have done not without my family and good friends.

Doll Face

A steel box reflecting off the screen of the TV, like prey in the eyes of a hunter. The box opens and she is alive, she is born. She is plain and gray like clay, ready to be molded and soak in anything she sees. The TV turns on and it begins, she is exposed to the media.

An image of a woman, the media and society portray as beautiful, appears and she is intrigued. The woman with makeup is the only thing she sees on TV so she thinks beauty is created with makeup. She puts on makeup to mimic the image but right when she thinks she is happy and looks good, the image and meaning of beautiful change. She gives herself a skin color of what the TV shows is appropriate but then, of course, the trends change.

All the changes soon become too much for her, it is too much for anyone to keep up with. She destroys herself, like many people do, before she can realize she is trying to be something she can never be.
She destroys herself trying to satisfy society.
